30 Days of Gratitude

Gratitude for the women in early recovery who show up with shaky voices, honest hearts, and that “please do not make me go first” energy.
And also gratitude for the women in mid-life recovery who show up with shaky hormones, honest hot flashes, and that “if the room temperature changes by one degree I might cry” energy.
And gratitude for the women with time who sit there nodding and say,
“I remember that panic. I remember that feeling. You are here. You are trying. That is healing already.”
The women who never say “you should” but instead say,
“Here is what helped me when I thought I had ruined everything forever.”
Sometimes also followed by, “And if I snap at you unexpectedly, it is hormones not hate.”
The ones who do not lecture. They live it.
They show us by the way they rebuild,
by the peace they fought for,
by the boundaries they learned the hard way,
and by the way they fan themselves with a meeting pamphlet like it is a personal climate-control device.
The women who once felt lost too.
Who thought they would never trust themselves again,
never stop replaying losses and lies,
never breathe without shame sitting on their chest.
And now they laugh again.
They sleep better (well, unless the hormones say otherwise).
They show up for their lives and their loved ones.
They build something they do not want to escape from and somehow turn around, look back, and say:
“Come on. You can do this too. I will walk with you. And if I forget where we are walking for a second, just give me a moment… brain fog happens.”
Messy buns, puffy eyes, shaky hope, and that quiet strength that says,
“We recover here. We learn. We rebuild. We rise. Together.”
To the women who bring wisdom without ego and grace without judgment, thank you.
You are proof. You are hope.
You are the soft landing and the steady reminder that one day, the chaos quiets
and we get to live again,
even if we need a cooling towel and a fan on standby while we do it.
Dr Pepper cheers to that. 🥤
