30 Days of Gratitude

One of the greatest gifts of podcasting and holding space for women in recovery has been witnessing what happens when we tell the truth out loud. I have learned that shame cannot survive in a room where honesty is welcomed and being human is allowed. It melts the moment we speak our story to someone who truly sees us.

Every time I share a piece of my own journey
the messy parts
the painful parts
the parts I once swore I would never say out loud
I feel the weight lift.
Not completely, not magically
but enough to remind me that my past mistakes do not define me.

And then there are the women who sit with me and share their stories.
Their courage moves me every single time.
When they talk about the moments they thought they were alone
when they describe the guilt, the fear, the survival
when their voices break
but they keep going
I see the same shift in them that I felt in myself.

That small release.
That softening.
That moment where shame loosens its grip because someone else is sitting there saying
I hear you
I see you
You are not alone in this.

Safe spaces do that.
They give us our voices back.
They help us reclaim the pieces of ourselves we lost.
They remind us we belong to something bigger than addiction and the harm we experienced.

Today I am grateful for the women who trust me with their stories
for the community that holds each other with compassion
and for the way honesty creates connection, courage, and healing in all of us.

Your story matters.
My story matters.
And together, in spaces rooted in truth and compassion
shame has nowhere left to hide. ❤️
